Sharing is caring!

Our Heavenly Father is a God of peace and prosperity. He wants us to enjoy our lives as we live to serve Him. A big factor to a good life is a life in good health but these days it seems like so many people are suffering!

As the world gets scarier, I find myself doing something I should have done much more of in the past and that is to align my life closer with God.

So today I would like to dive into what the word of God says about our health. We will discover why we may not be hitting the mark of God’s vision for our lives. And then I want to explore just a few ways to win the spiritual competition for health in the 21st century.

III John 1:2-4

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walketh in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.”

This passage is direct. The most important thing to God is that we prosper and be in health. If that is God’s desires for us then He had to make a way for that to be possible.

I don’t think it is an accident that this group of scripture mentions the word truth 3 times.

The number 3 in the bible symbolizes completeness. Whether God was trying to emphasis that our prosperity and health is related to understanding the truth or it is just a coincidence, I still find it significant that the word is used here.

Our bodies are part of God’s divine creation.

He tells us this very fact in Psalms 139:14.

Psalms 139:14

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

God doesn’t make mistakes. Our Creator tells us that we are wonderfully made. When God formed our bodies out of the dust, He did so knowing every illness and challenge we would encounter throughout the generations of humanity until the return of Christ when we get to have new perfect bodies.

I, for one, can’t wait for that.

It is therefore in the fabric of His marvelous design that he equipped us with every tool we would need to withstand sickness. The more time we spend dwelling on our Heavenly Father, the easier it is to see how His ways are perfect, whole, and peaceful.

I love that poetic scripture and I want to repeat this truth again so you can understand what is possible. Your body is fully equipped to heal from anything. With the right input, you can fully heal from cancer or any other disease using just the tools inside of your body that God designed.

God did not give us the spirit of fear. So, when fear creeps in about any health issue, know that it is not from God and therefore is false doctrine. In fact, if anyone is trying to instill fear inside you about illness, this should raise red flags, make you stop, and then proceed to understand the truth.

So why then does it seem that so many people these days are suffering from sickness? It seems like sickness is occurring in younger and younger people?

I don’t want to spend too much time talking about the fall of man when sin entered into the world but that was the inaugural event which led to God saying to both man and woman. “I will greatly multiply thy sorrow” In Genesis chapter 3.

Impurity is allowed in this world is due to sin. Sin originates from free will. Everyone has the choice to choose.

God made known the consequence for the devil’s action in deceiving Adam and Eve in Genesis 3:15-19.

“15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

The consequences of sin are immense.

I like to think about the spiritual competition as a game of chess in which the winner has already been determined.

Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

The word of God establishes the association between sin, death, and sorrow. So, one element to us achieving healing must be to live as faithfully as possible. By living faithfully, we allow God’s protection to operate to the fullest potential.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

The Missing Element to Achieving God’s Promises for Our Health

Let me ask you a question. Does anyone here try to live righteously to the best of their ability?

Does anyone here pray for their bodies to be healed?

Does anyone here still suffer from sickness?

Me too. Therefore, we are missing an element to achieve God’s desire for us.

I would like to speak about the missing piece now.

As I said before, we find ourselves caught up in the midst of a chess game between two great spiritual powers, God and the devil. God has already won the game when Jesus paid the price for our sins on the cross, but the devil wants to play out every move until the end.

We must therefore study our enemy so we can anticipate his moves. No one explained our enemy’s intentions better than our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

John 10:10

The thief cometh not but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

The devil motives are made clear. He wants to steal from God’s people, he wants to kill God’s people, and destroy our legacy.

Our believing and standing on the word offers us a hedge of protection from the devil. But he will never give up trying to defeat us and therefore steal from God. If he is not able to kill us, then perhaps he would shift his attention to weakening us with sickness so we will have less energy and therefore be less impactful apostles for God?

Colossians 2:8.

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”

Earlier I mentioned the word truth being used 3 times in the context of God’s proclamation of His desire for us to be in health. I think that is important to note, because one of the enemy tactics is to suppress truth and use deceit to get us to make decisions that ultimately degrade our health.

Here is one example that was something I experienced.

When I was growing up, I remember eating tons of lowfat yogurts because it was thought to help with weight loss.

At the same time I remember being told to avoid eating too much animal fats because they clog arteries. Canola oil was very popular back then as an alternative to animal fat and it was thought to be heart healthy.

As it turns out, doctors are now realizing that the nutrients inside of saturated animal fats help nourish our immune system and brains and are essential to proper functioning. In contrast polyunsaturated vegetable oils have been studied and are found to promote widespread inflammation inside of the body. Inflammation is great when you cut your finger, it helps it to not get infected, but when inflammation occurs across your body it leads to debilitating chronic disease.

This is one example of how ancestorial eating knowledge was lost for one generation. I wonder who was behind that?

Isn’t it amazing how just ever so slightly changing one facet of our diet could lead to so much human suffering? That is how our enemy has been working for years to steal our health, stealthily, just under our radar.

Acts 2:46-47.

And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart. Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”

There are a few places in the word where it talks about food and this is one of them. God tells us to eat our meat with gladness. Interestingly, when you are happy and relaxed during a meal, you are activating the parasympathetic nervous system which will help you digest your food better.

Out of all the time I have worked and studied as a nurse, I have learned more valuable knowledge about healing the human body by becoming a mom. There is something that changed inside of me and my thirst for truth got bigger. I wanted a better life for my kids and I saw a lot of parents struggling with their children’s health whether it be chronic ear infections, adhd, and sadly autism. This is what inspired me to learn from different sources.

My children’s lives are a testimony to God’s love in answering my prayers to bring me the information I needed to protect them.

Knowledge is power. You have to be able to see through the devil’s propaganda to make good choices. Only then can you prolong good health.

What I have come to understand, is that good health is achieved by providing your body with optimal nutrition and minimizing toxic buildup inside the body.

Our enemy uses deceit to hide the knowledge of proper eating from us. He also uses people and systems to manipulate our environment to increase the amount of toxins we are exposed to on a daily basis.

By doing these two things, he has been able to increase the incidence of chronic disease in people of younger and younger ages.

We cannot all be experts in everything, but I sincerely believe that God places people in our paths to deliver us from something we cannot deliver ourselves from. So, this blog is my chance to help someone.

Anyone out there. If I can convince you not to vaccinate your child, or teach you how to detox them if you already did because you didn’t know. If I can save one life with the knowledge I have, then I will have perhaps fulfilled God’s purpose for my life.

Exodus 23:24.

And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.”

If you do nothing else, here is one simple suggestion that will help you improve your health.

Before you eat every meal, pray specifically for God to bless the food, remove the impurities, and help your body fully digest it. Chew your food thoroughly and eat with gladness. These simple actions allow God’s power to move over your meal, engage the parasympathetic nervous system which helps with digestion, so that you can extract the most nutrients from your food which will then go to work in your body, doing exactly what God designed it to do, heal itself.
